blocked by c.n.n. so what you have there is a network international network that's controlled by washington so it's totally illegitimate as a media source but that's one of the reasons why this is going under the radar the reason washington has this policy with regards to bahrain is because bahrain is a key piece on the chess board obviously they're positioning themselves. with the conflict with iran in two thousand and thirteen and the naval fifth fleet of the united states is stationed in bahrain so that's why this policy of heavy handedness is been imposed on the people of bahrain patrick what makes the situation a scenario so different from the west for example backing regime change is an other countries throughout the arab spring. well like i said all the policy united states policy with this sort of petrol petro dollar coming from places like oman. buffering qatar united arab emirates saudi arabia the policy is to always back

a minority ruler ruling over a majority in the case of bahrain the shiite population is majority there in the ruled over by a kind of brutal minority extremist sunni rule or rule royal family but you know that the u.s. will not tolerate any sort of democratic reform uprising in bahrain because they need a hardcore dictatorship in place because obviously the amount of military assets that they've got in that country and they relying on the bahraini royal family to support them in israel in their sort of isolation in. positioning to potentially track or at least minimize the influence of iran in the region now here at r.t. and i know that you yourself have been following this as well violent protests in

bahrain have been going on for much of the year where do you think it's all heading and can it actually end well they this is what i would call and of spoke about this in previous analysis is this is the shiite problem with bahrain because i re out with when you look at attacking iran or coming into some sort of conflict with iran a shiite country you have shiite pockets in by. rain iraq significantly in iraq lebanon on syria even parts of saudi arabia so these will flare up if there's any sort of preemptive strike in the in the next year or two going to iran and they will not be able to contain it if there is a sort of all out war in the region what you'll see is these minority petro monarchies imposing kind of rounding up she sure protesting they might even put them into concentration camps for all i know i mean that's the sort of situation you look at because they can handle that on

a multi regional scale is to be popping up all over the place they need iraq in bahrain and these countries to be absolutely stable for them to isolate iran the shiite population wanting democratic reform or human rights reform or anything like that is a massive problem for people like hillary clinton and william hague and washington d.c. barack obama they can't tolerate any sort of arab spring in a country like bahrain all right live from london with his thoughts on breaking news coming out of bahrain geo political analyst patrick henningsen thank you patrick. russia's demanding information from turkey on its claims there were russian made munitions on board the syrian passenger plane that was forced to land and on caught on a turkish premier says the cargo was destined for the syrian armed forces but provided no details as to what exactly it contained or who was responsible for it parties are in a ghost clothes following a story. syria called the statement made by the turkish prime minister

absolutely true again that turkish officials insist that the plane coming from moscow to syria will hearing russian made technological equipment to the airport for origin in moscow was absolutely adamant in saying that every cargo which leaves is being checked for security and they did not find anything illegal or questionable about this particular cargo for the plane of course the plane on route to damascus was a was essentially told to land in turkey in fact the pilots have described the entire experience as horrifying because they have seen turkish f. sixteen jet fighters are really close to the jet they said that this whole situation endangered the lives of the passengers now when the plane actually landed in turkey the people who were in board the plane say they were mistreated or rather treated rather brutally by the turkish officials by the turkish police on the ground the cargo was confiscated the plane then left for damascus where it is yet

unclear what exactly was on board the plane and what was the origin of this cargo but a lot of analysts are saying that turkey while blaming russia in syria for contributing to these to proceed in the region itself isn't quite so interesting it is well it is a rather well we did that in iraq were turkey rather is a major smuggling or arms for the syrian rebel fighters in fact it's one of the main sources where this is their free syrian army is getting its financial aid from course the free syrian army also a hot air base located in turkey until september off this year a lot of analysts are saying that that in fact points to turkey as being the main destabilizer in the region. dimitri joins us now with business and how has the financial world taken the you won the nobel prize. well with a bit of ridicule really because apparently it will not be enough the one million

euros of prize money that the e.u. get single or not getting how they're going to do that is not going to be enough to take the out of the crisis and we'll need another free and a half trillion in order to do that well let's talk to actually a real professional let's get chris we for now. let's let's talk to the chief strategist of this burbank investment research that i got my thought out chris good to see you so what did you think when you found out like everybody else very surprised to hear to the price of you know words of the you. you know it seems like they got the prize more because there hasn't been any war in europe for many decades rather than having done anything specific but you know when you look at it this is a year when there are very few you know we see of any normal candidates so i guess it was a bit of a struggle for the norwegians to find somebody to give to this year anyway but definitely a strange choice all right well we've just calculated that if the e.u.

keeps winning the peace prize for the next three and a half million years that will be enough basically to cover for all the losses what it needs to do to get out of the crisis do you think that in a couple of years we'll still have the euro at least. i'm sorry do you think in the next couple years we will still have the euro in the world ok i think that the largest change over the last couple of months in the spring i think there was much more of a risk of the eurozone breaking up of greece leaving but i think you know through the summer politicians of how do you you know more of a reality can see to the consequences that are very dangerous of breaking up to your of greece and since then you know the the effort is all torture to focus all towards keeping the euro zone intact keeping greece within it and i think that this peace prize awarded today will of the provide even more encouragement to the politicians over the next couple of months to act with greater unity to try and reach some sort of solution we might. view is that you know we probably will see

a bigger band-aid being put on the problem over the next couple of weeks or the next month or so but i still think that we're going to run into perhaps even a more severe phase of the eurozone crisis probably next spring i think it's quite clear that the money to put it made available to the c b is nowhere near enough to deal with the problems emerging in spain and probably in italy and as we then you know the germans look towards the federal elections in the autumn i think that's where the real issues will be whether germany will agree to relax its very strong austerity push and reluctance put more money on the table or whether or not it will stay intransigent and then lead to a crisis so you know all we can say for the moment is that we are more likely to reach some sort of a situation for a few months but it's going to blow up again next spring all right well just one final question for you who do you think with that logic in mind is going to be next in line next year for the peace prize oh i think whoever can keep peace around this
